The Banjo Neck

The standard banjo neck is divided up into 22 frets, it can be made from a variety of woods although most are commonly made of maple and rosewood. The neck normally has inlay markers on the fretboard at the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 10th, 12th, 15th 17th, 19th and 22nd frets, these give you a visual means of identifying at a glance where on the fretboard a particular fret is...........

Note: top of the range or custom made banjos can have very elaborate inlays and markers on different frets.
